Band X - Atlanta Party Band with New Promo Video

Atlanta's Band X has a new updated video promo.

Some of the new footage is from one their shows in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel "The Joint", in May 2013. Other new footage is from their Nashville event at the Grand Old Opry Hotel and Convention Center in August 2013.

Band X Promo

Band X, a nine piece band with 6 males and 3 females, is one of the best party, dance, event, wedding bands on the musical scene today; playing events and performing all across the US. Costume changes, choreographed dance routines, long sets going non-stop song to song, are just part of the charm that has made this band one of the most popular "sought after" party bands in the nation.

KICKSTARTER for Mose Jones - Lost / Found Project

KICKSTARTER funding campaign for 70's/80's Southern Rock band MOSE JONES!

Steve McRay and Marvin Taylor, former members of the Southern Rock band Mose Jones, have introduced their Kickstarter campaign to release their never released 1980's RCA album - a project they named "Lost / Found"!

The way Kickstarter works it's funding campaign, which this one runs from Aug 31 to Sept 30 2013, is an "All or Nothing" campaign. If you don't reach your funding goal, you get nothing and everyone keeps their pledges. If you do reach or even surpass your goal, the pledges turn into contributions and the project is a funded success.

Our band Mose Jones' last RCA album was never released by the record company. The tapes were put in storage or destroyed, we never knew. 30+ years later, I answered a phone and was asked if I wanted to come pick up some 2" tapes with my name and the band's name marked on them...I went and picked up about 10 tapes, with 6 of them being Mose Jones last unreleased album project.

After our Mose Jones alumni and friend Bryan Cole passed away in December of 2012, I felt compelled to find out what was on these tapes and if the music had survived the years of storage. I called around and found a studio that had a 24 2" tape machine where I could transfer the tapes to digital format. But first, I had to have the tapes "baked" or "cooked" as is known in the trade.

Tape disintegrates over time and the residue comes apart from the tape, so baking them temporarily adheres the tape so they can play successfully on a machine without producing sludge and gumming up the tape heads -which means you would get nothing off the tape.

So the baking was a success, after a couple failed attempts, and the transfers were a success as well! What we retrieved off the tapes was some amazing music and sounds! It was our last recordings in all their analog, now digital, splendor!

The only justice at this point was to finance this project, so we chose KICKSTARTER and we set our goal at $5000. We could use more money, but we would like to make sure we reach our goal.

For more information, go to our KICKSTARTER site! Also, visit our Mose Jones web site for history of the band.

Atlanta Band - BAND X Plays Vegas - Hard Rock Hotel "The Joint"

Atlanta's Band X performed and backed up the name Artists at the May 21 2013 "Hendon Rocks" event in Las Vegas

Charlie Herndon's (Hendon Properties) "Lucky 13" event, held at the "Joint" in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas was attended by a few thousand real estate professionals and party goers. The "Special Guest Artists" included Jeff Carlisi on guitar (38 Special), Jack Blades on bass and vocals (Night Ranger and Damn Yankees), Wally Palmer on guitar, harp, and vocals (The Romantics), with Mike Reno (vocalist and front man with Lover Boy), and Ed Roland (vocalist and front man with Collective Soul). As well, new artist Tanner Hendon performed his new song (guitar and vocals) and played drums on selective artists songs. Band X (the 10 piece Atlanta band), including backing up the special artists on their songs, played an opening and a closing set for the event - performing their brand of party songs, 80's rock, dance hits, and a collection of other favorites, all to the delight of the packed party goers!

This year, the host and MC of the show was actress and Hollywood personality Jenny McCarthy.

A video of Tanner Hendon's performance has been released - check it out

More pictures and videos of the event will be released this summer -  look for videos to appear on Band X's You Tube video channel

Bryan Cole - RIP Brother

My long time friend and band mate, Bryan Cole, passed away on December 9th 2012 - due to complications from surgery to repair his Aorta damaged back in 2001. Bryan was given a "Celebration of Life" Day at Smith's Olde Bar this past Sunday Jan 13, 2013. It was a packed room with friends, musicians, and Bryan's family members - a great day for music and remembering Bryan...a day filled with LOVE!

Music started about 4:15 and ended around midnight. The lineup of bands and musicians was a virtual who's-who of the Atlanta music scene that spanned 5 decades...
